Sepillä on erilaisia konsteja silittää piekkarin pesän ylimeno.Kalvain tahtoo jättää enemmän/vähemmän poikittaisnaarmua.

Isä Calfee ja jotkut muutkin huippusepät käyttävät "Hobbia" ylimenon silotukseen.Kait tuolle Suomen sanoista lähinnä vastaa silovalssaus.
